FAQ's
common questions we are asked

What can I do with my pets while I go on holidays?

You can book Town and Farm Home Pet Care! We will look after, care for and give attention to your dog/pets at your home while you’re away. Pets are much happier when they get to stay in their home environment and continue feeding and exercise routines. There's no need for boarding kennels, we can come to your home. Please call, text or Facebook, we’d love to chat. See our range of home pet care services to find the right one for you and your pet.

What are the benefits of home-based pet sitting over other pet-care options?

Pet sitting is by far the best option for most pets. Your pet stays in the comfort of their own home environment, they can enjoy one-on-one pet care experience and get great care and attention and love while you are away.
We find home-based pet care means:

  • Pets are happier and experience less stress in the comfort of their home environment

  • Pets are happier when diet and exercise routines are continued

  • Travel trauma for the pet is minimised by staying at home

  • Pet’s exposure to illness is minimised by staying in their own home environment.

Remember they will be sad missing you, so let them stay in the comfort of their home and be cared for.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated to attend dog training classes?

Payment is made in full at time of booking, we accept payments on our website using PayPal. Check out what training classes are scheduled here. We also offer one-on-one private classes which may be better suited to you.

Will you come and meet my pet beforehand?

YES! One of our pet-sitters will be available for a meet & greet with you and your pet/s. This catchup is great for both parties to have a good feeling and get to know each other and ask all questions possible. It is completely free of charge. We'll book this in with you at a time that suits your calendar.

Do you stay at my house while pet sitting?

No we don't offer house sitting only visits to your home to carry out our pet care services. We can have access to your home while you're away to care for pets and carry out any home care services. With the geographical area that we cover from Chinchilla to Dalby, Miles and surrounding locations if we stayed at clients homes we would not be able to care for other pets in the area.

Can you help with larger animals like horses or cattle?

Yes, we can help with ALL animal types. We visit a number of properties to help with their cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens while they're away.
We also have a client with horses, and we feed, clean and ensure fresh water daily at their stables. Our 'out-of-towners' package might be right for you. There is no animal we can't look after; we have experience with a wide range of pets and farm animals.

We know how to take good care of your pet and know what to do in emergency situations. Of course, the possibilities that anything can go wrong are very low, but you can be confident that we have a deep understanding of what means to take proper and good care of your pet. Town and Farm are also associated with both the Chinchilla and Dalby veterinarians who can provide emergency services if required.

We can fulfil your pet's physical and emotional needs; your pets are in good hands! Find out more about our team.

Do you offer doggy daycare?

Unfortunately, no we do not offer daycare for your pets. Doggy daycare refers to a short-term daytime care for dogs. We currently operate as a mobile service where we come to your home and your pets to carry out our care services so pets stay in the comfort of their home environment, in their own backyard.

How long will your visit be with my pet?

The duration of time we spend varies depending on the care service you have booked and your pets needs. If they require extra time for being active and entertained or just need those extra cuddles because they're missing you we can certainly do this for you. This is where the 'meet and greet' is great to work out the needs of you and your pet and ask all the questions you have. This meet and greet with you and your pet is free of charge.
